Are we monitored every second ?

Are we monitored every second ?... Probably YES...

Recently I observed a critical thing for which I will tell a couple of stories which happened within months span.

Friend suggestions on Facebook:
Story 1-
A guest ( Old Family Friend) had come to my house, which he visited after 10-15 years. In this time, we were not connected over Social Media (genuine friends :) ). On the same day, he was suggested to connect as- a friend on Facebook. I was shock and surprise to see that how can Facebook came to know that we can be Friends ?? ( In fact, we didn't have any mutual friends).

I know it can be through location tracking, but I felt they have taken it to next level that they have monitored in which house this person has gone and who stays in this house.

Story 2- I daily get business calls and one of vendor had called me in the afternoon. The same day I saw the same person is recommended as a friend on Facebook. My contacts were already synced earlier but a surprise to see the coincidence of day of call and suggesting as a friend on Facebook.

Both incidents took my mind to another thought - ARE WE MONITORED EVERY SECOND?

India being an overly populated country, with Billion plus people, it has become one of the biggest markets for Social Media companies like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. Social Media has become an integral part of people.  Such companies are exploiting India by such use of information and had already created security issues for India.

These companies are mainly from the USA and PROBABLY used to keep an EYE on the world, which they are doing efficiently. Most of the countries in the world are using such platforms and these countries are largely influenced by the USA.

Few countries like China, which might have seen this as a threat to National Security earlier, have made it difficult for these companies to enter in and companies have to modify certain things to enter in China. China being the Communist country is perceived as something different in the world (again mainly due to the perception created on such Social Media companies).

But I strongly feel that China has taken the best step for Protecting Privacy and National Security of China keeping in mind their interest first then other interests.
India needs to take certain leanings from other countries like China.

Govt. should bring some rules and regulation on such platforms by keeping in mind the privacy and security of Indians. This security is internal and external as well as THEY know what Indians are doing and thinking etc. This has to be supported by the people of India.

At present situation in India, if anyone talks of bringing regulations on News/Social Media then its called and Anti Democratic step. This has practically become a challenge to bring and implement some stringent norms for such companies.

Democracy beyond a certain limit is a threat to Own Country !!

  1. FB and all use AI and ML to map your contact, calls and also via emails.. they also use big data feeds from Various providers to generate these recommendation.. there are two sides of same coin.. while u want to be conservative and want to protect privacy.. on contrary such features are much appreciated by millennials and add lots of ease. Best example is AI in the smart phones that map your travel plans with Air tickets and also update of delays etc.

This is true, with technological developments and user seeking benefit be it using maps for travelling, apps for booking travel and calender's for managing meetings, mails for communicating business & personal matters, listening music, smartwatches/fit bands to track your fitness, social networking etc. and list goes on, this is bound to happen.
Irony is one who is not using smart phones without applications viewed as backward or secretive. Technology has already moved forward and predicting/trending where are going to go, future friends, influencing opinions /interests and influencing governing body formation/deformation etc. so and so forth....only time will tell what's stored in the future...
